Our QI toolkits outline the steps needed to launch and lead a successful piece of quality planning work or quality improvement project in your own practice or cluster. They include the tools and templates required, as well as share previously tested change ideas and practical ready-to-use resources. We include example data collection and measurement frameworks to help you easily demonstrate your improvement. Our toolkits include scale and spread toolkits as well as planning toolkits.

The toolkits are based on the Model for Improvement, encouraging you to:

  • Plan for your own context

  • Use the right tools to understand and work in your own context

  • Consider your broader environment, stakeholders and the consequences for change

Toolkits projects have been selected for one or more of the following reasons:

  • Significant clinical impact

  • Improve patient or staff experience

  • Return on investment (ROI) potential

  • Measurable outcomes at health board level available on ongoing basis

  • Robust QI methodology

  • Current pressing topic

If you would like a practice project to be considered as one of our toolkits, or would like to provide feedback on the current documents, please contact the team
